Andrew Brodie Memorial Picnic 2018

It hardly seems two years since Andrew left us. The second Brodie Picnic will take place from 12.00 on Sunday 2nd September 2018 at Newlands Corner. Located on the A25 just east of Guildford, this well-known beauty-spot is a grassy slope on high ground with distant views. There is free parking, a cafe and toilets. Our research findings are that all such locations quickly get parked out on a Sunday if the weather is good. To be sure of getting parked safely and in a group it will be as well to arrive before midday.
Michael Quinlan feels that we don’t get out enough in the cars as a group. He is interested to know how many others agree with him and so is organising a 20 mile easy drive to Newlands Corner on picturesque side-roads passing through villages in the Surrey Hills. This will start from Ockham Bites, a very convenient off-road meeting place just a few yards south of M25 junction 10, exiting on A3 south towards Guildford. There will be a roadbook and we shall depart at 10.45am to arrive at Newlands Corner in good time. This should suit all participants apart from those coming from SW of Hindhead. So we know who to expect, those who wish to participate should please email Michael at michael@quinlanmc.com by the end of August.
