SM Owners UK Ltd. (“SM Owners UK”) operates citroen-sm.uk and is the data controller for the purposes of GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Our address is Church Farm, Church Road, Wacton, Norfolk, NR15 2UG.  This is also the contact for privacy and data.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, SM Owners UK collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. SM Owners UK’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how SM Owners UK’s visitors use its website. From time to time, SM Owners UK may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

SM Owners UK also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on our blogs. SM Owners UK only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to SM Owners UK’s websites choose to interact with SM Owners UK in ways that require SM Owners UK to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that SM Owners UK gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who comment on our blog to provide a username and email address, we will also record their IP address for security. Those who wish to receive our newsletter updates via email, we collect their emails. When you register for membership on our site we also ask for some compulsory address information.  Details of the car you own are also requested so we can help record which cars are still roadworthy.  In each case, SM Owners UK collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfil the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with SM Owners UK. SM Owners UK does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
